Complete your referral form on Patients Know Best (PKB) 

PKB allows you to submit a referral to the Birth Reflections Service. Below you will find instructions on how to register for PKB and submit your referral form.

Please note that PKB access is through the NHS App and not Badger Notes. 

While you are waiting to be contacted by the service, you will also be able to access a range of information and resources available within the PKB Library.

How to register on PKB:

New PKB user - Click ‘Continue to NHS login’ sign up to PKB

Already have a PKB account – Click ‘Share’ to share your record with the Birth Reflections Team

Already part of the Birth Reflections Team – Click ‘Log in’

You can find all these options above by scanning the QR code provided.

How to complete a referral:

Please complete the birth reflections referral form with as much information as you feel comfortable sharing. The information you provide will help us understand your experiences and ensure that we can offer the most appropriate support.

Via the NHS App:

NHS App PKB

  1. Click on View your messages from the homepage or Messages in the navigation menu
  2. Click on ‘Your hospital and specialist doctors'
  3. Click Continue
  4. You will land on the PKB Events & messages page, where you can select Start consultation
  5. Select the Birth Reflections Referral and complete.
  6. Once completed scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit

 

Via the PKB website:

  1. When logged into PKB you will see a home screen. On the right-hand side, click Start consultation
  2. Complete all the mandatory fields
  3. Once completed scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit

Welcome to the second trimester!

Your baby is about the size of a small lime and weighs approximately 14g.

You have hopefully seen your midwife for your 'booking in' appointment, if you have not yet seen a midwife please make an appointment quickly, so you can have all of your choices about screening tests explained and offered to you.

Your baby is about the size of an avocado and weighs approximately 100g.

Your baby has grown in length and is now the length of a small banana and weighs approximately 300g. Around this time you will be offered your '20 week' scan, also known as the 'anatomy' or 'anomaly' scan.Click here for more information about screening. 

This is a also a good time to talk and sing to your bump as your baby can now hear sounds. This is great way for you and your partner/family to bond with your baby.
